Geography Trip

At the beginning of July, Year 12 geographers embarked on a residential field trip to Nettlecombe Court in Somerset. Throughout the first part of the week, students engaged in group activities, honing various human and physical fieldwork techniques. They investigated topics such as shaping places, coastal management, and the water cycle during fieldwork sessions. In the evenings, they participated in workshops on statistics, geographical information systems, and data presentation. The second half of the week was dedicated to planning independent investigations and collecting fieldwork data. To unwind after their long days, students enjoyed activities such as rounders, football, quizzes, a murder mystery and a campfire. Their hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed, earning them compliments from all the tutors at the Field Studies Council. Overall, it was a fantastic week!
