Homework
Overview
Homework is an essential part of the learning experience at Trinity, assigned by teachers in line with the school’s homework policy and timetable. Homework supports classroom learning and promotes the retrieval and practice of key knowledge. All homework is reviewed, marked, and promptly returned to students with feedback. Homework assignments are communicated centrally using the EduLink system.
Homework Timetables
Students and parents can use the homework timetables below as tools to support and manage the homework load. The timetable does not indicate the specific day teachers will set homework; instead, it shows the recommended day for completing the homework activity. Homework assignments are spread across the days suggested for each subject to ensure a balanced workload.
KS3 Homework Timetable
Students in KS3 should aim to spend about 30 minutes per homework assignment listed. In the four weeks leading up to formal assessments, homework will focus exclusively on revision. Additionally, in Years 7 and 8, students receive Literacy and Numeracy homework, in addition to English and Maths, to help develop various skills.

KS5 Homework Timetable
Due to the nature and frequency of KS5 lessons, and because some subjects have more than one teacher covering different topics, homework is not assigned to a specific day for each subject. Homework is still set formally via EduLink, but students are also expected to engage in independent study alongside their assignments to consolidate and extend their learning. Tasks may be set at any time during the week, allowing adequate time for completion. As a guideline, KS5 students should dedicate an additional 20 hours per week, beyond lesson time, to their studies, including both teacher-directed and independent study.
